The skit starts with 'Miley' trying to explain what happened to the audience, but she ends up breaking down in an hysterical fit of giggles
Even introducing her father Billy Ray, played by Jason Sudekis causes her to start cackling.
When he asks her how she is doing she says, 'good one dad,' and gives a hearty laugh.
She then says: 'Then the media was like Miley Cyrus pothead, blah blah blah, smokes too much weed, bloo, bloo, bloo, so yeah.'She then tries to do a 'comedy monologue' about cancer, but cannot stop laughing, and has to go into her interview.
Miley says: 'Okay, I can't do this right now it's just too funny.'

She then introduces her guest for the week, a hippie called Jeff, played by Steve Buscemi, who she met at the Burning Man Festival.

He tells his daughter he has arranged an intervention with Whitney Houston, who reveals she has been clean since 2013 and is played by Bridesmaids star Mya Rudolph.

Afterwards Miley says: 'I thought it was educational and pretty cool.'

The skit then ends with the four characters singing a song.
Whether Miley will have found the skit as amusing as the studio audience is debatable.
Her management team have been in damage control mode since the outburst, with her spokesperson saying: 'It's all been taken out of context. The cake was a joke and Miley's response was intended to be sarcastic.'
Her good friend Kelly Osbourne has also defended her, tweeting: 'The cake was also a joke.
'It makes me sick that Miley's so-called "friends" would sell her out and lead people to believe she is someone that she is not.'
